In the heart of a nation where Christianity is outlawed, a small congregation gathers in secret. Their grace united church of Christ, if you can call it that, is no grand cathedral. It’s a simple room, barely large enough to hold a dozen people. Yet, for those who worship here, it’s the most sacred place on earth. Every day brings new challenges for these believers: constant fear of discovery by authorities, threat of imprisonment or worse, ostracism from family and community and limited access to religious materials. Despite these hardships, their faith remains unshakeable. As one member puts it, “Our belief is not just words; it’s our life.”
At Grace United Church, we believe in the power of faith, love, and community. We are dedicated to providing a welcoming online space for believers and seekers alike. Our mission extends beyond worship; we actively support persecuted Christian families, especially former Muslims who face hardships for their faith. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of those who are often overlooked.
As a small grace united community church for Ex-Muslims we are church run by volunteers and financed by donations. We are located in the heart of the Muslim world and therefore have to avoid public attention and to rely on the internet to reach audiences outside our community with the message of Christ. Our physical space is small and the costs of running the church are low, but so are our funds. It is difficult for our community members to fund the running of the church themselves due to the persecution they are facing, which means that we are currently relying almost entirely on donations coming from outside individuals.
Hiding in Fear
Upon learning of their conversion, the couple’s family and community turned against them. The act of embracing Christianity drew immediate threats to their lives, forcing them into hiding. They had to adopt new identities, moving constantly to avoid detection, and the constant fear put immense pressure on their daily lives. In addition, the man of the family often had to risk exposure by going out for work, dramatically increasing their vulnerability. Imagine becoming a target for simply following your beliefs
A Life-Changing Decision
For this Pakistani family, embracing Christianity was more than a change of belief—it was a complete upheaval of their lives. The mother, once a respected community member, found herself at the center of a storm she never anticipated.

As a church for ex-Muslims, we are in a unique position to make a profound impact in the Muslim world and to provide essential resources such as food, clothing, medical care and shelter, and a sense of community to those facing immense challenges due to their faith. However, due to constant persecution towards the local Christians, we lack the necessary funds to carry out our mission without outside help.
